Jaywalking Violation
Welcome to our Public Service segment here on Motoring Today. This week, we
received a complaint from a pedestrian who was given a ticket by a Metro
Manila Development Authority or MMDA enforcer. Nangyari ang panghuhuli sa
Cubao, Quezon City. Ayon sa kanya, hindi siya hiningan ng kahit anong
identification card at basta na lamang siya binigyan ng ticket para sa
nasabing violation. She also reached out to the MMDA and they insisted her
to come personally and pay the necessary fee. She has already settled the
payment but is still wondering about the legality of the incident.
We will be raising this concern to the MMDA and would ask them about the
proper procedure when cited for jaywalking.
